Maeve Brophy, Piano
Maeve Brophy of Memphis, TN, gave her first solo piano recital at age 9 and made her orchestral debut at 15. She has performed numerous solo and collaborative concerts across the country and in the Nashville area. She works as an accompanist at Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt and is an accompanist and teacher of secondary piano at Belmont. She has collaborated with several faculty and guest artists on the Blair Concert Series. She performs in Memphis often with her sister, violinist Linnaea Brophy. She is also the pianist for Kingston Springs UMC. In addition to chatterbird, she performs with Luna Nova, a contemporary chamber ensemble based out of Memphis. She has a Master of Music in piano performance and attended Manhattan School of Music, The University of Alabama at Birmingham, New England Conservatory of Music, and Texas Christian University. She enjoys playing jazz and has performed in The Establishment Band and the UAB Big Band. She has varied interests and is trained in massage therapy and yoga instruction. She enjoys composing and song writing and also loves dancing, the outdoors, fashion, the Internet, staying up too late, and getting to know new people.
